This statistic tells us that sexual harassment is, unfortunately, a widespread issue that many people, regardless of their gender, have faced or are likely to encounter sexual harassment at some point in their lives.

This study tells us that a considerable number of women across different industries and professions have encountered unwanted and inappropriate behaviour of a sexual nature while on the job.

Over 70% of workplace sexual harassment reports result in some form of retaliation.(Source: National Women’s Law Center)

Among those who experienced retaliation, the most common form was being fired. Other forms of retaliation included receiving poor performance evaluations, having their work closely examined, or being treated poorly at work.

India top publicly traded companies, saw a 70% surge in sexual harassment complaints during FY23 from the previous year.

The rise in cases highlights and suggest increased awareness about sexual harassment and the availability of platforms to report the complaints.

There is a great degree of confusion among sections of employees and internal committee members about what complaints should come under the Prevention of Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (POSH) Act. This is also contributing to a higher number of cases being lodged with internal committees of companies that are not prima facie cases of sexual harassment.

Prevention of Sexual harassment POSH at the workplace training is crucial to  prevent and redress incidents of sexual harassment.

The employees are made aware about what constitutes sexual harassment and guides them on how to respond effectively and whom to approach for redressal.

By participating in the POSH training program, employees gain the necessary knowledge and skills to create safe and inclusive workspaces.

POSH trainings foster a culture of respect, equality, and accountability, reducing the occurrence of sexual harassment in the workplace.
